I would like to take the opportunity to thank Paul and Judith as well as my friends and family who have been supporting me with this over the last year. I could not have done it without you.
I wish everyone a happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year.

All bark removed and all wood treated for woodworm.
This kind of work is not easy and blisters in the hand can be the result.
It didn't stop Paul from finishing the job though!
Paul have removed all bark for the beams and sprayed all wood with woodworm chemicals.

Windows and a spiral staircase
The next step is to get the last windows fitted in the loft floor the the house is finally protected from all kinds of weather. Paul will also get a spiral staircase fitted so we can get up to the loft.
The only problem will be to get larger pieces of furniture up there. I will get a clearer picture when I go down in October.

A two months wait...
It is just over two months since Paul ordered the beams for the loft floor.
Due to a flooding in the local wood yard it took a very long time.
Patience is not my strongest side but I have been told that a 2 months wait in France is not uncommon.
The other day I finally got a message from Paul with the good news I had been waiting for.
The beams holding the loft floor will come up shortly and I look forward to getting the photos.

Kitchen...
This is the bit of the house where I will have my kitchen. It is facing to the patio in the back where I can have my breakfast or my afternoon tea.
All floor boards in place!
The floor boards are now in place. The other part, facing the back of the house has not been laid with floor boards but wooden plates. It is going to be the kitchen area and I will probably have ceramic tiles there.

Second floor!
The second floor was in a very bad shape and needed new floorboards.
Yet again I got a little help from my family. This time Runar and Cecilie offered to help with founding and the boars could be ordered. Tusen takk til dere begge for det! I look forward to seeing the floor in place in a couple of weeks.

This photo is from the front of the house on a very cold day in February (-13) I was lucky with my visit a few weeks earlier when it was mild and sunny.
