Last job of the year...

All  walls finished, floor glossed and of course the black skirting boards everywhere. There will be a break until January now.

It all looks so clean and fresh!

 I found this bird cage lamp in a charity shop, it is going to hang above the stairs.

Todays morning walk...

I tried a different route today and had a very enjoyable walk.

The forest here is part of the national park and it is growing naturally 

with no human intervention and logging is of course forbidden.

It's very dry here due to hot weather and lack of rain sadly. 

Some wildflowers seem to tolerate the dry soil. 

Nothing bette than a relaxed bath after a long walk!

I have ordered this fan lamp for the kitchen, I think it will be perfect!

August trip to Auzon

When you travel from Paris to Auzon the journey starts here.

Train from Paris to Clermont-Ferrand takes approximately three and a half hours.

Then it's a local train to Brassac which takes about forty minutes.

Finally a car journey of 20min to Auzon.

It was very very hot but good to be back!

Back in a familiar place!

It's the walnut season and they grow everywhere! 

It was very hot and dry but still a few lovely flowers around...

I had some wine left from my last trip and it was time to enjoy...

A protective layer on the patio floor!

 

It looks like red clay but it is actually a waterproofing material that will stop water coming through the patio floor into the room underneath.

A new door!

It will later be stained in a dark oak.
